The Innova-Ahead grant drives growth and innovation in our company, being a key lever in the development of an electrical insecticide solution to help combat disease transmission in our region

At Vinfer and as a company specialized in the manufacture of insecticides and household products, we firmly believe that innovation is the best tool to provide useful and safe solutions to society. Therefore, to receive the Innova-Ahead grant of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha has been a real boost for our growth and for the development of an ambitious project that will mark a turning point in our sector.

The program Innova-Ahead It is part of the Plan Ahead of Castilla-La Mancha, an initiative aimed at strengthening the regional business fabric, promoting the innovative capacity of companies and betting on strategic sectors for the economy. It is also part of the objectives of intelligent, sustainable and inclusive growth of the Europe 2020 strategy of the European Union and responds to the challenges of the Intelligent Specialization Strategy (RIS3) from Castilla-La Mancha. These grants, which may be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), constitute a key lever for promoting projects with a strong innovative component and a clear impact on society.

In our case, this lever has allowed us to shape a project that we had been working on for a long time: the development of a novel electric insecticide designed to combat mosquitoes and thus contribute to the control of the transmission of infectious diseases in our region.

Innovation with social impact

The challenge we set ourselves was not simple. The mosquito is, today, one of the main vectors of disease transmission worldwide. Although the incidence in Castilla-La Mancha is not comparable to other geographical areas, there are associated risks affecting both the health of the population and well-being in households. Aware of this, our R&D team set out to design an innovative solution that would combine efficiency, safety and respect for the environment.

Thanks to the help of Innova-Ahead, we have been able to allocate economic and technical resources to accelerate this project, equipping ourselves with the necessary technology and strengthening our research capacity. This support has facilitated the acquisition of equipment, the hiring of specialists and the implementation of more advanced processes in our production line. In short, it has made it possible for an innovative idea to become a real product, with a high potential for positive impact on society.
